Vitamin C
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, water-soluble and a potent antioxidant it is essential for normal functioning of the body. Unlike most mammals, humans don't have the ability to make their own vitamin C. We must therefore obtain vitamin C through our diet. It plays a primary role in the formation of collagen which is important in the growth and repair of healthy skin, tendons, bones, and supportive tissues. Serious vitamin C deficiency can result in joint pains, growth retardation, anaemia, shortness of breath, susceptibility to infection and irritability.
